A true soul and competitive surfer who was only introduced to surfing at 10 years old when he moved to a small fishing village of Esterillos Oeste. During his youth, he competed with the National team both here in Costa Rica and internationally becoming the local legend known as “Yogi” - as in Yogi the bear. He has since poured his heart into being a professional and highly sought after surf instructor and developed other skills required to bring the vision of ride into to life. His intention is not only to share the sport of surfing, but the power of the ocean, and the essence of Pura Vida culture. “I cannot say it in other words other than surfing truly saved my life. It gave me the motivation to return to finish school, it provided direction for navigating life, and introduced me to the right people who could offer me guidance when I didn’t have anyone as a child. Every wave gave me hope and empowered me to face life’s challenges. Ride In offers me a life that I’m really proud of living. When I see beginners ride their first wave smiling as they soar down the line - that is the joy that fulfills me and the gift I want to keep sharing.
